The State of the Firesign10, physical
Jan. 16th, 2020 01:06 pmSo one of the hallmarks of the new year so far is a slew of medical crap. Items include:
**Eyes. I have a big fat cataract in my left eye that is ready for surgery that will be covered by insurance. I have a cataract in my right eye that is NOT ready, so if I get surgery on it now, I have to pay for it, like at least 5K. Waiting until June to check it again, as my left one grew really fast. Please importune all deities for it to grow. I'm looking forward to life without glasses.
**A medication change. I've been on 900mg of lithium and 100 of Pristiq since I broke my shoulder 3 or so years ago. I'm now switching to 600 lithium and 300 trileptal (still keeping the pristiq). SO far I have had a really smooth transition. Seeing psychiatrist in 3 weeks for check-up.
**I have to lose weight. Yeah yeah, we all do, but no really. My liver enzymes are slightly elevated, we are looking at fatty liver, and I am really skirting the line on diabetes. Ugh.
**Lastly, i have to have a biopsy on my left breast. I have always had dense breasts (they never get my jokes) but I now have calcifications too. So they want to check things out. I went in for the least invasive biopsy technique, but could not tolerate lying on my stomach without moving for an hour. SO now it's a minor surgical thing, and I see the boob dr next week about it and then they'll schedule it. I don't have a bad feeling about it, so not worrying about anything until the time comes (if it does).
So this is a lot of my shit going on the last two months in addition to regular life things. MOre on those another time! (And they are much happier!)
