Jul. 31st, 2021
well, hello
Jul. 31st, 2021 05:17 pmI feel like the summer is racing by.
When last I posted, I was in the middle of a re-fi on my house that had stalled. A $1500 lien from when we bought the house in 2002 was not released, according to the town clerk's office. WELL I knew it was released, but could I find that piece of paper? No, I could not. Now I have re-fied THREE other times, so I knew it was cleared. I had proof of payment, nit nope, you need the release.
After three weeks of stress, I finally went to the town clerk's office and told them my tale of woe. Lo and behold, they located it in 10 minutes. The company issuing the release let one letter off of our last name, so it was not coming up in the electronic searches.
VICTORY!
We closed a week later. I got to pay off a home equity line of credit and landed a 2.65% mortgage.
We had a landscaper come to some work in our back yard. Some rough was cleared, a small berm leveled, and we had a bunch of stone put in around the above-ground pool and the patio, including a new fire pit. It looks DELIGHTFUL!
I am not a gardener, but Ethan's best friend gave me some plants for Mother's Day. I have now transplanted them into a front bed, where they are very happy. Today I started laying down some landscaping fabric to deter weeds and mulch on top of that. My neck didn't like that too much, so I only did about one quarter of the bed so far.
I continue to deal with chronic migraine. THe wacky weather the last coupld of months played havoc with me. None of the fancy new preventive meds work for me (CGRPs), but I do have an abortive that shuts the headache down within a couple of hours. I am so grateful for that.
My husband is happily watching his pepper garden thrive. He's growing two dozen kinds of hot peppers!! And 4 kinds of tomatoes.
So I'm seriously looking at self-publishing a story. I'll be re-styling a fanfic--I'm working on it now. It's definitely work, partly because it's a story I wrote as a baby writer, and partly because it needs a lot of re-vamping and adding of material/scenes. I'll keep you posted!
Stay well and safe, my dudes
