We had the whole Ethan/appendicitis thing, and I thank y'all for the well-wishes and support!!! He bounced back, as 17-year-olds do, and is in fine fettle. He has a little 2 inch scar.
I struggled a lot depression-wise through the end of December. Happily, Christmas itself was absolutely delightful. We used our 'party room' again - the carport ventilated but with heaters, plenty of space for 6 people (the 3 of us, a gap, daughter and boyfriend, a gap. her dad). We had an AMAZING charcuterie, I had decorated the place up, tree, presents. It was lovely.
Still struggling by mid-January, I talked with my psychiatrist and we upped my bipolar mood stabilizer.
Well...
That didn't go well. I spent half of the next four weeks in and out of a hypomanic state. Bad sleep, irritable, volatile, bursting into tears, just kind of a hot mess. I was supposed to have a colonoscopy, but the day before I canceled it. There was no way I was going to make it through that.
It took the colonoscopy debacle for me to see the trend. Up and down, up and down. Aha!! Too much med!!! SMH
A quick call to shrink again, and she agreed. We've now dialed me back down to the previous dosage. There may be a smaller increase later, but half what the first one was, and not until after I've been stable for a bit. Within a couple of days I felt so much better. I meet with her again tomorrow for follow-up, and I'll be happy to report how much better I feel.

firesign10 shortly. I'm poking at things around the house - little bits of organizing and such.
We are re-hunkered down, with the COVID variants floating around. Double masking when we do go out. I switched to home delivery for groceries, so it's just the odd trip to the drug store or the packie. In my state, we are eligible for the vaccine in the next tier, which is supposed to open up in a couple of weeks.
And so we soldier on.
