Well, as the fates would have it, I had a lovely day today.

A couple from karate that we are very close to, the husband went through the four hour test and earned his black belt today. Very moving and inspiring to watch a room full of students receive their belts!! Afterward, we went over to their house for the afternoon into the evening here. Mike spent five hours yesterday smoking ribs, and we brought two full racks over, plus homemade potato salad (includes things like Old Bay, minced green onions, and minced jalapenos). They roasted corn on the cob and had fresh fruit salad. We just sat and ate and talked. It was really lovely.

So there you are. Started the day with a bold of joy (podfic! tipsy kitty!), got really depressed, and then ended up with just a fantastic time and happy memories. I'm pretty damn happy about it all.
